We are dedicated to expanding programs for all stages of life. Our community programs are designed to provide that refuge for individuals to explore, be playful, and simply be! Community Programs are there to help you Find Your Place & Know That You Belong! These classes are offered by Donation to the public.
Cafe’s will start up in the Fall on the 2nd Wednesday of each month 5pm @ Duke’s Bakery. We will announce schedule soon!
Dance for People with Autism
This dance class is specifically designed for individuals with autism. Repetition and structured movement weaved in with creative exploration make this a fun and safe environment for participants to let loose and challenge their dancing feet. Currently class is held on MOST Thursdays at 7:15pm. Please notify us ahead if you plan to join.
This yoga and meditation class is designed for individuals dealing with injury, chronic pain or a physical limitation or a physical limitation or those who just want to take things slow. The class will aid in releasing tension and encouraging freedom from mental and/or physical barriers. Empower yourself in Chair Yoga. (see calendar for offerings)
Community Open Meditation
This offering invites meditators to share space and take advantage of the positive force of like minded folks joining together for an un-guided practice. A guide will be present to offer suggestions and help. (see calendar for offerings)
Dancing with Parkinson’s
The program is a thoughtful and appropriate dance class that allows participants to cope with the physical, mental, and emotional effects of Parkinson’s in a supportive environment. Dance for PD offers a chance for instructors and participants to find joy within the community through movement and music. Offered first Wednesday of each month 11am-12pm – Please Register if you plan to show up! Sessions will begin again in October 2017 through May 2018
Jessica received training and certification from the Mark Morris Dance Group (MMDG) for Dance for PD. Dance for PD was developed by the MMDG and the Brooklyn Parkinson’s Group in 2001. Jessica is also certified through the National MS Society. (people with MS are eligible for reimbursements).
