Planting Seeds of Wisdom

The dhamma/lessons are the seeds to all the programming and tools we offer to the community. When I first met Greg in 2011 and he told me about POTEGP (the Philosophy of the Eight Guided Paths). Despite my inability to memorize what the acronym stood for, It was the philosophy/the lessons behind all the labels that resonated within my core and kept me coming back for more… So much so that my life changed within those few moments, my purpose couldn’t be clearer (though there have been many bumps or wrenches along the way in my path/practice), I know I will continue to plant the seeds of the wisdom that were bestowed upon me.

In honor of the memory of our Center’s beginnings and of Greg, who remains part of the Center and provides daily inspiration in what I do and in turn what I am able to offer, I wanted to share a past blog entry written by Greg which sheds some light on his launch towards a quest for higher purpose. “Introductions to Paths”.

What the Center is and what it offer’s to the community could not be possible without the support from Greg Squillante, the founder, who opened our doors and the Squillante family who continue to hold those doors open day in and day out. The center’s essence and foundation is a mission of paying it forward. We continue to provide lessons, guidance and tools that in turn keep the cycle of giving and gratitude going to all who enter.

“It only takes a moment to be loved an entire lifetime. I am grateful to all those who have come before to shine light on the way.  I am honored to have met Greg who has blessed me with his grace and wisdom – and taught me the key to wielding the  philosophers stone – the gifts that truly keep giving – creating everyday magic within the mundane – I am blessed with gratitude for the Squillante family whom support the center and continue the ripples of love and kindness.” – J. Lessons from the One Room Schoolhouse

Our goal and the vision of Greg, in building the POTEGP Spiritual Guidance Center & Botanical Garden Retreat is to offer a space of refuge for members and the community to enjoy. The Center offers ongoing classes in meditation, yoga, dance and other holistic movement and creative arts programs including programs geared toward people with M.S., Parkinson’s Disease, Dementia, Alzeimer’s (stages 1,2, & 3), & Individuals with Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities.

We also provide active Guidance with the Abbess and community support through our monthly Sangha meeting (a community of people dedicated to encouraging and nourishing the spirit). In addition to the various educational creative arts, farming/horticulture and wellness classes/workshops that are held throughout the year.

Many thanks to the continuous support from the Squillante family who keep the day to day gears working, keeping our doors open and enabling our services to take place.

I am also honored and happy to acknowledge our newest donor and philanthropist James K. Spriggs! Thank you James for believing in what we do! I am filled to the brim with gratitude.
